Writer/Director Jake Hulse has created an intimate and riveting story for those of us living in the Post 9-11 Generation. Actors Andrew Casanova and Tyler McElroy helm a compelling ensemble cast telling the story of two childhood friends living in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Like many teenagers of their generation, best friends Tim Estey (played by Casanova) and Ben MacDonald (played by McElroy) pledge to enlist in the Armed Services in response to the attacks. Tim, who has lost his father Christian ( played by actor John Anthony Wylliams) in the bombing of the World Trade Center towers, persuades his best friend Ben to enlist in the Marines and go to war against the Iraqis.
Writer/Director Hulse deftly weaves together the story of what happens to Tim, Ben and their respective families in the aftermath of Tim’s eventual enlistment and Ben’s decision not to enlist “right behind” his friend. The subsequent dramatic tension and dialogue leading to a flawlessly executed and masterfully choreographed confrontation between Tim and Ben are more than worth your time and attention.

See this film with someone you care about, and talk about it afterward. I feel that everyone who sees this movie should commit to thanking the next veteran of any war that they meet for their service. My September 11 Anniversary Wish is that we might finally choose to lay down our guns, swords, and shields to STUDY WAR NO MORE. “Heroes Don’t Come Home”is now available on Amazon.com. go here to view the film.
