Gored is a feature length documentary about Antonio Barrera, the most gored matador in modern history. Antonio Barrera takes us through his life and explains why he became a matador.  While Antonio describes his relationship with the bull as his closest relationship even more so than his wife. He becomes more relatable, even if you are against bullfighting every person understands that feeling they get doing something larger than they are. A mountain to a mountaineer or a motorcycle to a bike racer, these things take on a life of their own as we play out our own life and death defying dance with them. A dance only the mountain or the motorcycle could understand. The documentary is further heart wrenching as his wife describes her feelings about loving a man who may walk into the ring and never come out alive.  It is well done, beautifully shot, and because it opens with Antonio on his knees as a bull exits the gate and runs toward him, I was afraid we would see him destroyed at the end of the documentary. Thankfully that is not happen although in a way he was destroyed because he has chosen to retire and this was his last bull fight.
