Created by TianYu Arts and Culture, Inc., the lanterns that are on display throughout the arboretum are an unforgettable evening experience of rich art, and cultural discovery. The Art Of Monteque was honor to be able wander through the gardens filled with more than 60 larger then life lantern installations placed on the 127-acre botanical garden; that was created by artisans from the Sichuan province of China depicting plants, animals and architecture. The exhibit takes about a gentle one hour walk and view along its one-mile route. The magnificent lanterns reflect three themes; Nature, Children’s Garden, and Chinese Culture, all of which embrace the mission and communities of the Arboretum. This is A celebration of the time honored tradition of masterfully crafted lanterns art.

“What we’re doing is showcasing this art form made contemporary with new materials and new construction methods,” CEO of the L.A. Arboretum, Richard Schulhof said. “When I first saw these lanterns at a festival in Norfolk, ‘I said this is incredibly beautiful, we have to bring this to Southern California.’”

Masterfully crafted the lanterns beckon you into the gardens of fantasy and fable. Some of the lanterns depict beautiful animals, shimmering exotic flowers, and intriguing figures from Chinese legends. It is truly an evening of dazzling color where the imagination comes alive fueled by the spark of magic!

“This is for people who have never seen this kind of lantern festival before. I hope they can truly enjoy this experience, because this kind of art has been part of thousands of years of history in China,” Ai Luo, the representative of Tianyu Arts & Culture, Inc. and Vice President said. “I hope that this can let people fully experience the Chinese culture.”
