The best part of this film is the very talented Flula Borg who plays the best friend of David (David Guintoli) who has just been dumped by his fiancée. Unable to recoup the money for his honeymoon, David takes his best man Flula on the honeymoon.
Co-written by Flula Borg, David Guintoli (Grimm) and director Alex Simmons, Honey Buddies is a buddy road trip movie minus the road and replaced with a hiking trail through the mountains of Oregon. With nothing but beautiful forests and waterfalls to distract us, the film rests solely on the shoulders of the talent to pull it off. Which they do spectacularly.
The characters are well written. Flula Borg is charming, quirky and outrageously witty throughout, from the moment we meet him! While David Guintoli is a wonderful Dean Martin to Borg’s Jerry Lewis antics. Plus the cinematography is breathtakingly beautiful.
“Honey Buddies” had its world premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival
