Artist Jorge Luis Sanfiel Cardenas was born in1963, in Santa Clara City, Cuba. He trained in the Soviet Union as an engineer and cartographer, on his return to Cuba Sanfiel dedicated his life to painting. Jorge Luis Sanfiel Cardenas is a self taught artist and painter. He works in the style of folk art and naive art. His painting are in acrylic, charcoal and pastel on canvas.  Jorge Luis Sanfiel Cardenas is known as the “painter of cats”.

He has carried out 22 personal exhibitions and more than 85 collective exhibitions. His artwork has been rewarded in important events of naive art in Cuba.

Jorge Luis Sanfiel Cardenas paintings has showed in parts of the united States and in  Europe. He has more than 20 years of experience in naive and folk artwork. Jorge Luis Sanfiel Cardenas is also a member of The National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).

Artist Jorge Luis Sanfiel Cardenas is now living  and working in Santa Clara, Cuba
