“Captain America The Winter Soldier” is not your average or typical comic book movie. Instead it is an espionage political thriller. With a uniquely intense storytelling, old-school action scenes, and superb acting. The movie pulls you in allowing you to be a part of what is going on. The deliberate fast-paced storytelling with its numerous cliffhangers and plot twist keeps you on the edge of your seat while constantly guessing. The story is set in today’s world, a time where everything is a compromise and freedom is nothing more than an illusion. The subject matter almost seems to be ripped from the front page.

“Captain America The Winter Soldier” is not really a story about Steve Rogers, it is however about the chess game being played by S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and the head of S.H.I.E.L.D… plus member of the World Council Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford) with S.H.I.E.L.D being the chessboard. Each player is moving their pawns around the board strategically with a cold and callous demeanor. Constantly trying to outsmart and stay ahead of their opponent one step at a time. While the pawns Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Natosha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) are trying to stay alive long enough to uncover the truth; only to find that the breadcrumbs they have been given lead all the way to the evil organization HYDRA. Which has set up its home base in their backyard.
The ultimate pawn at play is Alexander Pierce’s; a deadly assassin who mindlessly follows his masters every order.
The game is set! At stake is the lives and freedoms of millions of innocent people. One wrong move could destroy the world or bring S.H.E.L.D to it’s knees.
